Uhura is a female Simbani warrior the Hero first encounters in the Adventurer's Guild in Shapeir where she is the Guild Master and trainer.

Background[]

Uhura started to learn how to fight with a spear when she was a toddler. She became a warrior but desired a child and according to Simbani custom she was not allowed to be both a warrior and a wife. She left the Simbani Village and traveled to Shapeir so that she could have a child out of wedlock and still return to her home village as a mother, yet remain an unmarried warrior. She brought with her the family's spear and shield, being with her for many generations. She chose one of the Sultan Harun Al-Rashid's guards as the father; her son was called Simba. She planned to stay in Shapeir until Simba would be old enough to travel back to East Fricana.

At the beginning of Quest for Glory 3 Uhura and her son Simba accompany Rakeesh and the Hero back to Tarna. She meets the Hero again in the Village and helps prepare him for his own initiation as a Simbani Warrior by teaching him spear throwing and wrestling on the balance beam (if he is a Fighter). Uhura also welcomes the Hero into her hut at night to talk about current events and explain the Simbani culture.

She encounters the Hero one last time helping him fight against the Demon Wizard along with Rakeesh, Manu, Reeshaka, Yesufu, Johari, and Harami.

Personality and Traits[]

Uhura is very practical. She knows much about monsters and fighting styles, and most of her interactions with the Hero involve her teaching or assisting him in some way. Like most of her people, Uhura dislikes magic, and will not allow the Hero to use it while sparring with her.

  • If the Hero attempts to kiss Uhura in QFG2, the game comments that it would probably anger her, and that you wouldn't want to see her mad.
  • If the Hero attempts to give Uhura flowers in QFG2, she accepts them claiming they will be useful for salad.
