Ritual of Release

Erana's Staff, I choose you!

The Ritual of Release is a story-based Spell. It removes Erana's Staff from its place in the Town of Mordavia and activates the Destiny Spell. It only appears in Quest for Glory 4.

The Ritual requires 20 MP to cast.

Learning

The Ritual of Release is learned in Quest for Glory IV from Tatiana, the Queen of the Faerie Folk. Not long after rescuing Igor and acquitting Gypsy Davy, the Hero may find a Staff floating in the area south of Erana's Garden. Touching it will reveal the Faerie Folk and Tatiana will charge the Hero with retrieving the Staff for her. She will teach the Hero the Ritual for that purpose.

Function

The spell has one use, and one use only: to remove Erana's Staff from the rock it's lodged into in the Town of Mordavia to begin the Destiny Spell. It is cast automatically as the story dictates.

Training

This spell can only be trained by casting it on Erana's Staff before obtaining it via gameplay purposes. When done so, the staff will raise itself from the rock, then return. There is no benefit to a higher spell skill.

Hybrid

If a Hybrid character is created and is given Magic, he will not be able to learn the Ritual. Only dedicated Magic Users will encounter the Faerie Folk and learn the spell.

Trivia

• Likely due to a programming error, any character with Magic will receive the message that they've cast the Ritual of Release upon the scene at Erana's Staff, regardless of whether they've learned it.
• If the Hero is not a Magic User, then Erana's Staff will move and cast the Destiny Spell on its own, making the practicality of the spell suspect.
