Vitality

No pain, no gain.

Vitality is an Ability. It is a measure of how physically tough the Hero is, similar to "Consitution" or "Endurance" as used in other media. The Fighter gains the most benefit from the skill, but every Hero needs to be able to survive. Vitality ties into the following factors:

  • How well the Hero can take damage
  • How many Health Points the Hero has
  • How many Stamina Points the Hero has

General[]

Vitality is largely what keeps the Hero alive in combat. The higher a Vitality, the more damage he can take from foes in combat.

Vitality, in addition to Strength, is factored into Health Points, the formula being one-third of Strength plus two-thirds of Vitality.

Vitality, in addition to Agility, is factored into Stamina Points, the formula being one-half of Agility plus one-half of Vitality.

Training[]

Most any kind of physically strenuous activity that reduces Stamina Points stands a chance of increasing Vitality (usually along with Strength); the simplest way is running around instead of walking, but by far the most effective means is by taking damage in combat. A Hero who engages in a healthy amount of combat will find his Vitality stat increasing quite easily.

Vitality is trained working at the stables of Spielburg Castle but this can be done only once per day.

Like all Abilities and Skills, Vitality can be increased by 50 in Quest for Glory II using the Djinni Wish, but as it's an easy to skill to increase, this is usually considered a waste.
