The gold royal and the copper common are Tarna's currency. The exchange rate is 100 commons to one royal. Each coin weighs one quark.
The Hero begins Quest for Glory III with 200 dinars from Shapeir and must exchange them with Dahab Khalis to purchase goods in Tarna. He may not store his money anywhere but on his person; any attempt at leaving money in storage chests will be denied.

Killing Monsters[]
The following random monsters will give money upon being searched:
The amount of money the Hero receives from his fallen foe changes not based on the type of enemy, but based on the location fought. Fighting a foe in the savannah may result in 2-5 royals, while fighting a foe in the jungle may result in 4-10 royals. It is not apparent, however, where on their persons such monsters store said royals.
Thievery[]
Heroes with enough Stealth skill can give 1 common and swap it for 1 royal from Orpheus, the drummer.
A non Hybrid Thief classes can also steal money while breaking (as a mandatory plot) into two buildings:
- In the Laibon's Hut, the chest by his bed contains no less than 60 Royals and 700 Commons!
- In the Leopardman Chief's Hut, the chest by the door contains 8 Royals.
