Zara's Magic Shop (aka the Spielburg Magic Shop) is a shop in the Town of Spielburg. It is featured in Quest for Glory I.
Background[]
The shop is on Main Street, west of the town's entrance and the Hero's Tale Inn. The entrance to the shop is known as the Magic Door. The shop itself is slightly disturbing, with an eye above the door that constantly watches passersby.
The shop's motif in general is quite different depending on which version of the game being played:
In the EGA version, the shop's outside is composed of several bright colors, and the entire shop front seems to be the outline of some squarish beast. The word "MAGIC" is emblazoned boldly above the shop, and sometimes fire shoots out from above the eye. The interior of the shop is dark and dramatic, with clouds for a ceiling, and darkness in the rear.
In the VGA version, the shop looks slightly less garish, although the eye hangs over the building like an odd sort of plant. The back of the shop is now an cloudy expanse.
In both versions, the shop's shelves are lined with arcane and mysterious items, most of which is only useful to specialized spellcasters.
The shop is run by the half-Faery Folk wizard Zara. She is assisted by her familiar, Damiano.
The shop is open 24 hours a day.

Apart from speaking to Zara, a Hero who is not versed in magic has little to do in her shop. The potions that can be bought in the shop can all be bought at the Healer's Hut at a reduced price. But the spells Zara sells are indispensable to the Magic User.
